Bedazzled

July 24, 2006

I recently was given a copy of Omnidazzle to play with and I’m so impressed.

I’ve seen other apps that do similiar things, but this one does some fun things.

You can use it to zoom portions of the screen (just like option, apple and +/-), you can turn you mouse into a spotlight (just like mousepose), you can use it to draw (just like John Madden or Jerry Remy), and if you use several screens or a big screen it’s very handy to find your mouse.

Check out the demo version (which runs for an hour at a time).

Statistically troubled

July 24, 2006

There are about 12 people registered as users for this blog.

According to the Internet, for every 100 users 1 will create content, 10 will interact with it (comments) and 89 will just view it.

Statistically speaking we either have to add to our user base or convince David Trask to starting writing to the blog.

Any thoughts or ideas how we can get a little more life into this blog? (Statistically one of you should comment back.)

Room 220 Revisited

July 24, 2006

In 1991, I started at Mt. Valley High School in Room 220. I had a wonderful time in Room 220, but eventually switched rooms and ultimately left MVHS.

I’m pleased to say that in a few short weeks I’ll be entering another Room 220, but this one is in Dirigo High School.

I’ve accepted a position teaching history. I’m very excited to put into practice everything I’ve learned from my SEEDling friends and Center colleagues in the past five years. I consider my time at the Center a practical Ph. D program. I’ve done and learned a great deal, but it’s time to apply it. I’m looking forward to the 2 minute walk to work, although it’s going to force me to rethink how I listen to all my favorite podcasts. I love the challenge of creating cool stuff with students.

I still can be reached at mnolette@mainecenter.org.

Anyone know where I can get some lesson plans? ;)
